Who We Are
Plumb is provided by Best Practice. In this policy, “Plumb,” “Best Practice,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the people and systems that operate the app and related web pages at plumb.madewithbestpractice.com.
Information You Provide
The app may let you enter measurements, job notes, business profile details, photos, voice input, location stamps, or calculation clips. This information is used to provide the features you choose, such as saving a clip, producing a ledger, exporting a PDF, or sharing a result.
Plumb is designed around local utility. Many job details are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or send them elsewhere.
Local-First Processing
Plumb is designed to process measurement tools, calculations, sensor readings, camera previews, microphone input, saved clips, notes, and exports on your device. We do not use telemetry, behavioral analytics, advertising SDKs, or cloud failover for tool results.
We do not receive your measurements, calculations, photos, microphone samples, sensor readings, notes, saved clips, or location stamps unless you choose to send them to us, include them in a support request, or share/export them through another service.
Device Permissions
Plumb may request device permissions only when a feature needs them:
- Camera access for measurement, inspection, markup, or jobsite photo features.
- Microphone access for optional voice input and local sound-level estimates. Audio is processed on-device and is not recorded or saved by the sound meter.
- Location access for optional location stamps on clips or records.
- Photo library, storage, or file access when saving inspection photos, importing, exporting, or sharing files.
- Motion, orientation, flashlight, and sensor access when using tools such as the level, plumb bob, stud finder, AR tape, sound meter, or inspection viewfinder.
You can change these permissions in your device settings.
Purchases
Plumb may use Google Play and RevenueCat to process purchases, verify entitlements, restore purchases, and manage the one-time Plumb Pro purchase status, including the 7-day free trial where offered. These providers may receive purchase identifiers, product identifiers, device/store metadata, and other information needed to operate app-store billing. We do not receive your full payment card number.
Plumb does not use ads or advertising identifiers. If the purchase model changes, we will update this policy and the applicable app-store listings.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Run app features you request.
- Save and restore your Plumb Pro purchase status.
- Troubleshoot bugs and respond to support requests when you contact us.
- Comply with applicable law and app-store requirements.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate Plumb, such as app stores, purchase infrastructure, hosting providers, or support tools. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the app, users, or the public.
Retention
Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall the app, or use app controls that remove it. Purchase and entitlement records may be retained by app-store and purchase providers as needed for account, tax, fraud-prevention, and compliance purposes.
Your Choices
You can decline optional permissions, delete local app data, choose not to export or share job records, and contact us about privacy questions at [email protected].
Children
Plumb is intended for construction, estimating, and field-work use. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as Plumb changes. The effective date above will reflect the latest version posted on this page.
